Cops tasked to focus on mall security during holidays

It’s the season for shopping…and it’s also the season for Christmas crimes. That’s why malls have been tagged as holiday hotspots by the police.

“The 18,000-strong National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) is on heightened alert and is focusing its efforts to secure malls and other places of convergence as Christmas is fast approaching,” reports Non Alquitran in The Philippine Star.

Chief Superintendent Dennis Peña, NCRPO deputy chief for operations, made this announcement over the weekend. He also said, “We will be in every nook and corner of Metro Manila in the next few days not only to secure malls and areas of convergence but also to prevent criminals from striking.”
