Is this the new trend among drug peddlers?
On Tue, Jul 12, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti-Illegal Drugs Group (AIDG) raided a fishing vessel that actually served as a floating shabu laboratory off the waters of Subic, Zambales.
AIDG spokesman Senior Supt. Enrico Rigor stated that the four men from Hong Kong were arrested during the police operation “could be chemists connected with big-time Chinese and local drug syndicates.”
The cops recovered half a kilo of suspected shabu worth around PHP10 million from the boat. Rigor added that the bulk of the shabu could have been distributed already.
“The suspects, who are facing charges for possession and manufacture of illegal drugs, were brought to the PNP headquarters at Camp Crame for investigation,” reports CNN Philippines.
The report noted: “Police likewise said that the floating shabu lab could be connected with another anti-illegal drugs operation in Claveria, Cagayan last week which yielded 180 kilos of suspected shabu. This is because the same fishing vessel had also been previously spotted there.”
