Just how many cops are behaving badly? Short answer: Too many to count.
“On Wednesday night, July 23, police in Makati City arrested on Wednesday night a member of the Malabon City Police for possession of shabu and an unlicensed pistol,” reports Mike Frialde Philstar.com.
According to the report, Police Officer 1 Jomar Clemente was aboard a motorcycle when he was stopped at around 8 p.m. by police at a checkpoint along Sampaguita Street in Barangay Comembo. Initially, they had just stopped him because he was not wearing a crash helmet.
But it turned out that wasn’t his only violation.
Police had to search Clemente after he presented an expired driver’s license. Then they found the unlicensed .45 pistol loaded with seven bullets and one gram of shabu contained in a plastic sachet.
To top it all off, it was found out that Clemente has been absent without official leave (AWOL) from the Malabon City Police Station.
Clemente will be facing charges for illegal possession of firearms and possession of illegal drugs.
