With Pope Francis expected to visit Philippines on January 15, 2015, Davao City Rep. Karlo Alexei Nograles was encouraged to make a “spiritual suggestion.”
“Nograles has invited Pope Francis to come over at the House of Representatives and Senate and give moral and spiritual guidance,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
Nograles was quoted as saying, “It would be such a blessing if Pope Francis could address both Houses of Congress. With our country being a predominantly Catholic nation—and the Pope being the leader of the Catholic Church—the words of Pope Francis addressing our legislators and policy makers would inspire us even more to work harder towards achieving social justice, a preferential option for the poor and to become better persons and a better society.”
