There are so many ways to be a bad citizen—and this one is a contender for the top spot.
“On Thursday night, Dec 12, a man named Cesar Dasok crashed the van he was driving into the center island of Philcoa in Quezon City,” reports ABS-CBN’s morning show Umagang Kay Ganda.
The L-300 van’s windshield was broken and its bumper got twisted. The van had also rammed into a traffic sign, which ended up falling on the street.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, Dasok turned out to be drunk. Things got more complicated when it was revealed that he was an employee of the House of Representatives, specifically the Mailing/Records Section.
When he was interviewed by the TV crew, Dasok appeared to be dazed. Despite the wound on his forehead, he managed to smile a bit and give matter-of-fact answers to the queries. “Aaminin ko, nakainom ako (I admit, I drank),” he said.
He went on to explain that he had just come from his department’s Christmas party. Maybe it was the alcohol buzz that was giving him false courage—but Dasok sure didn’t seem remorseful about the mess he caused and the fact that he endangered the lives of others.
‘Tis the season to be deadma?
