Commuting in Manila is a pain, and many Manila denizens have gone back to taking the train after the abrupt exit of Uber.

The good news is that LRT-2 has announced today that they will extend their operations. Effective immediately, the adjustment means that the train leaving Santolan and Recto will depart at 4:30am, instead of the previous timing of 5am.

At the same time, the last commercial trip from Santolan will leave at 10pm instead of the previous timing of 9:30am and the last train will leave Recto at 10:30 pm instead of the previous 10pm departure.

However, instead showering LRT-2 with praises, commuters used the announcement as an opportunity to post their complaints online.

Reacting to the announcement, Arbie Obevir wrote in Filipino: “I hope there’s ventilation. Also, I experienced where my money was ‘eaten’ by the ticket machine and I had to wait for seven days before I can get a refund. I had to go to the station every day where they assured me that I ‘will have the refund tomorrow.'”

The lack of airconditioning is also a sore point for Sonny Ynnos, who wrote in Filipino: “I hope you fix your ventillation (sic) because it’s suffocating [inside the train]. It’s so hot especially in the afternoon.”

One commuter quoted the president when he reacted to LRT-2’s announcement.

“Like what President Rody Duterte always says, f**k you, there’s still no aircon. We’re paying our fares, isn’t it? It was better when it was cheaper and had aircon,” wrote Adrian Dmaxs.

Leon Yadab also complained of “always out of order CRs [comfort rooms or restrooms], escalators that are turned off, [and] out of service elevators” that can be found at LRT-2’s stations.

Guess you really can’t please everyone.
