Commuters’ group demands roadworthy buses only

Should this be filed under “Wishful Thinking” or can we make it happen?

“Jessie Santos, the national president of the Public Commuters Motorists Alliance (PCMA), has asked passenger bus operators to be extra-vigilant by ensuring that all their units are 100-percent roadworthy,” reports Jun I. Legaspi in Journal Online.

Santos issued the statement after one of the units of Kellen Transport (TXL-238) caught fire along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City on Wednesday morning, Sep 10.

Santos pointed out: “[That] incident is very alarming. It should not be taken lightly, as they claimed the unit that burst into flames was supposedly new.”

The investigation on the bus fire is still ongoing.
