Communist group wants to increase membership to 25,000

No, there probably won’t be a signing bonus for newbies.

“In a statement released during the 45th anniversary of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), the group’s  political arm, the National Democratic Front (NDF), ordered its allies yesterday to continue their recruitment efforts in order to increase their strength to 25,000,” reports The Philippine Star.

The military, on the other hand, practically dismissed the statement.

Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) spokesman Maj. Gen. Domingo Tutaan Jr said in an interview, “I think that is absurd because people have been clamoring to end the armed struggle. [So], they are living a life of fallacy believing they could recruit a lot (of people) for their [cause].”
