The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) — in partnership with the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) — is celebrating Women’s Month in a big way.
They have produced the first-ever “Lupang Hinirang” music video with all-women cast. This music video features women representing different sectors. (There are some men in the video, though, we spotted some at the 1:58 and 2:00 marks. But, hey, they can be “honorary women.”)
Before the “Lupang Hinirang” is played, the portraits of Filipino women who have blazed trails are flashed on the screen.
As the PCW noted: “Everyone is encouraged to use this especially during Women’s Month Celebration (March), the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (November 25 to December 12), and other Gender and Development related activities.” The used the hashtag, “#ProudFilipina.”
