The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Wednesday led clearing operations against illegal campaign posters near the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and Sucat areas in Parañaque City.
Comelec officer Jonalyn Sabellano, accompanied by MMDA and police officers, tore off campaign materials which were posted outside of the designated common poster areas. According to the Philippine Star, the Comelc had sent notices to the concerned candidates asking them to remove their illegal campaign materials. The clearing operations was a result of inaction on the candidates’ part.
