On May 19, 10 days after the polls, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) sitting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC) declared the 12 winning senators as scheduled.
Franklin Drilon and Joel Villanueva, both from the Liberal Party, took the top two spots. While Vicente Sotto III of the National People’s coalition took the third spot.
Famous boxer Manny Pacquiao took the seventh spot in spite being No.1 absentee in Congress.
Two women made it to the list: Raisa Hontiveros ang Leila de Lima.
The 13th candidate Metro Manila Development Authority chairman Francis Tolentino asked the Supreme Court to defer the proclamation of 10th to 12th winning senatorial candidates because of irregularities in the transparency server of the Commission on Elections. However, he failed to present a temporary restraining order granting his request.
Comelec will proclaim the winning party list members at 6pm.
