Comelec not yet sure if Duterte and Poe’s names will be on the ballot

The printing of the ballots is scheduled on the third week of this month at the earliest.

However, Commission on Elections (Comelec) chairman Andy Bautista said they’re not yet sure if presidential aspirants Senator Grace Poe and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte would have their names on the ballot.

“While the Comelec is not holding off the printing of the ballots for a court ruling, Bautista said the Comelec is waiting to see how things will develop especially at the Supreme Court. He cited the disqualification cases against the two,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

When asked if the Comelec can say with finality that Senator Poe’s and Mayor Duterte’s names will be included in the ballot, Bautista replied, “Not yet.”

In fact, as the report indicated, “the Comelec is currently exploring scenarios on what to do when a candidate is disqualified after the ballots have been printed.”
