Sometimes, you get lucky when you’re late.

“The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has announce that its biometrics registration system has run into a glitch that has resulted in the data of early registrants being erased,” reports Cherie Mercado on News5.

The report explained that “biometric registration is a requirement to vote in next year’s elections and includes a voter’s digital photograph, signature, and thumbmark.”

In any case, it was likewise pointed out that “Comelec spokesman James Jimenez did not say how much data had been lost, only acknowledging it was ‘not a very large number.'”

Jimenez said they have informed affected voters that they need “to come in and provide biometrics again.”

According to COMELEC, around four million voters still have not entered their biometric data. The registration ends in October.
