Is he still on the administration’s ship or have they thrown him overboard?
“Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said he has no knowledge on whether Health Secretary Enrique Ona will be returning to his job,” reports Willard Cheng on ABS-CBNnews.com.
Coloma said only the President would know for sure. Coloma added that he was not sure if Aquino had already met with Ona.
Coloma’s exact words: “Ang batid ko ay patuloy ‘yung pag-aaral doon sa mga usapin na naipahayag hinggil sa implementation of public health policy. In particular, ‘yung mga immunization programs ng DOH (Department of Health), this is the subject of the inquiry and the study that is now ongoing. I have no specific knowledge doon sa mismong pagkikita nila.”
Anyway, the report noted that “Ona, who is supposed to end his official leave tomorrow, is facing a probe over the questionable procurement of vaccines worth PHP833 million in 2012.”
The report added that “Aquino also allegedly snapped at Ona for seeking additional PHP600 million for the purchase of protective gears and implementation of infrastructures against the Ebola virus. Aquino wanted to focus on prevention.”
