An inmate was left dead while 12 others were hurt after a riot broke out at the New Bilibid Prison late Tuesday night. Apparently, the prisoners got into an argument over a game they were playing. Prison Supt. Venancio Tesoro said the violence erupted inside the maximum security compound between the Sputnik and Happy Go Lucky gangs.
They were playing cara y cruz, when players had a misunderstanding that led to the fight, which then led to the death of Sonny Sarsuelo. He died after “sustaining a gunshot wound caused by an improvised firearm,” reports the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Cara y cruz is a coin toss game, where bettors pick a side of a coin as it is tossed. Never thought a coin flip can flip you out to death.
