Last week, a curious sight caught the attention of Manila resident Romeo Catap along Arellano Street near the De La Salle-College of Saint Benile.
Catap relates that he saw a parked garbage truck with several garbage collectors around it doing their tasks. One of the garbage collectors happened to be wearing a barong.
A barong is a dress shirt that’s used as formal wear by Filipino men. That’s why a garbage collector wearing it seemed like a curious sight.
Although, it does look like the garbage collector just wore the barong over his uniform. It appears to be a couple of sizes too big for him.
That said, we’d like to thank this man and other garbage collectors out there who literally take our crap. They’re the kind of hardworking heroes who should not be taken for granted.
