While there was no heavy downpour from Typhoon Labuyo, majority of students and parents stayed indoors today thanks to the early suspension of classes from Local Government Units (LGUs). As early as last night, majority of Metro Manila mayors have already suspended classes in various levels in anticipation of heavy rains.
Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada ordered the suspension of all classes in the elementary level in public and private schools and made the announcement in several radio stations. The Mayors of Mandaluyong and Pateros also followed suit with similar radio announcements.
Here is a run down of class suspensions:
Caloocan- up to high school, public and private
Las Piñas – up to the high school level, public and private
Malabon – up to high school, public and private
Mandaluyong City – up to high school, public and private
Marikina City – up to high school, public and private
Muntinlupa – up to high school, public and private
Parañaque – up to high school, public and private
Pasay City – upl to high school, public and private
Pasig City – up to high school level, public and private
Pateros – all levels
Quezon City – all levels, public and private, including graduate schools
San Juan – all levels
Valenzuela – all levels, public and private schools, including daycare centers
