For all ye filmmaker wannabes, good news: Cinemalaya Foundation just announced that it’s going to open the Cinemalaya Institute in two months — that’s June for you, baby.

Allow us to layout your timeline: Tomorrow, application forms will be made available. You have two weeks to get your act together and submit (May 15). Cinemalaya Foundation has two days to shortlist and call candidates for the interview process (May 18 & 19). Cinemalaya will announce accepted students on May 20. Okay, so why would you want to go through this fast-paced process?

The Cinemalaya Institute is a three-semester intensive program that will not only train students, but also provide accreditation in key aspects of film production: writing, directing, production, cinematography, editing, acting, sound, and production design music and score. Don’t worry, these subjects will be taught in clusters.

It will be house at the New Media, School of Arts & Design of the College of Saint Benilde, which is Cinemalaya Foundation’s partner for this project.  

Check out the courses below:

1. Introduction to Producing. This is a four-week course that will teach you all the boring, managerial things you’ll probably overlook but will need to know how to do: obtaining permits, copyright and trademark insurances, talent agreements, budgeting, and the like.
When: June 1-26, 2015
Your Prof: John Paul Su, who has produced works for BBC World, ABS-CBN, Brazil’s Globonetwork, will be teaching the course.
Prepare your dinero: PHP25,000

2. Fundamentals in Screenwriting. Here, students will lean how to tell a story visually as well as dramatically. They will also be taught how to create and hone their voice.
When: June 8-July 4, 2015
Your Prof: Sophia Wellington, of the NYU Tisch School of the Arts Asia in Singapore, will be teaching students how to tell a story visually as well as dramatically.
Prepare your dinero: PHP25,000

3. Basic filmmaking. The silent film. Here, students will be challenged to find his cinematic voice as well as apply the basics of film language. They will also have to learn the aesthetic and expressive use of cinematography, sound and editing skills. A 7-minute silent film will be expected of each student at the end of the program.
Your prof: Carlos Siguion-Reyna, who is an award-winning director (Azucena) and who also happens to be a professor at the NYU Tisch School for the Arts Asia. 
Prepare your dinero: PHP35,000
