Christmas lights cause fire in Caloocan’s BIR building

It’s better to celebrate Christmas without fancy lights than in front of a burning building.

“A fire reportedly caused by defective Christmas lights broke out at the fourth floor of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) building along EDSA in Caloocan City on Christmas Day,” reports Rey Galupo in The Philippine Star.

According to the report, the security guards posted at the office of the district director located on the building’s fourth floor turned on the lights of the Christmas tree shortly after 9am. The fire broke out sometime after that. By 11:49am, firemen declared the two-hour blaze under control.

Fortunately, nobody got hurt.
