This will flood the dispute with so much tension.

“On Wednesday, February 4, a dzBB report revealed that a vessel that allegedly belonged to the Chinese Coast Guard rammed three Philippine fishing boats off the Panatag Shoal,” reports GMA News Online.

The report noted: “The Panatag Shoal, which the Philippines also refers to as Bajo de Masinloc, is an area disputed by the Philippines and China. The area, which is also called Scarborough Shoal, is claimed by China, which refers to it as Huangyan Island.”

According to the fishermen on the boats that got rammed, the Chinese vessel’s crew told them to leave the area. Then, the Chinese vessel then rammed their boats, damaging their outriggers.

The report explained that “while the 29 Filipino fishermen were not injured, they were traumatized as they recalled two alleged Chinese Coast Guard personnel aimed firearms at their direction.”
