She had just arrived in the Philippines and she got a very brutal welcome.
“In the early hours of Wednesday, June 11, a 44-year-old Chinese woman named Chen Jun, boarded a white Sir Anthony taxi (license plate number UVZ 437) at the airport and asked the driver to bring her to Cubao,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
Chen was going to board bus at the Cubao terminal and head to Angeles, Pampanga to visit her boyfriend.
However, she was robbed by the taxi driver when they were along Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City. Her money, cellphone, camera, and credit cards were taken by the suspect. He then hit her on the head with a tire wrench before he escaped and left his taxi.
Chen, who sustained wounds on her head, was later found by personnel of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). They rushed her to the hospital for treatment.
The report said that the “authorities are coordinating with the operator of the taxi to get the identity of the driver.”
