There may be tension between our two countries right now, but we have to thank them for still helping us out.
“Amid the controversies surrounding its supposed meager aid to the Philippines, the People’s Republic of China has deployed its hospital ship Ark Peace as part of its humanitarian aid to the country in the wake of Typhoon Yolanda,” reports ABS-CBN News correspondent Pia Gutierrez on ABS-CBNNews.com.
The ship, which is now off the coast of Tacloban, has a 300-bed facility and can receive as many as 800 patients a day. It has more than a hundred medical personnel onboard. It boasts of 20 clinical departments, including general surgery, ICU, respiratory medicine, oncology, and even traditional Chinese medicine.
Since its arrival in the Philippines over the weekend, two civilians have been brought inside the ship for emergency medical operation. Perhaps, more Yolanda survivors need to pay the doctors on the ship a visit.
