Government-run Philippine Children’s Medical Center on Agham Road corner Quezon Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City, is in danger of losing its current location, estimated to be worth PHP1.1-billion. According to this Inquirer report, the National Housing Authority has demanded that the hospital purchase the lot, which it is unable to afford. It added that the 6.3ha lot that it was originally sitting on has, over the years, shrunk as it was awarded to other government agencies like the Office of the Ombudsman and the Court of Tax Appeals. The latest take over is by the National Economic Development Authority’s Philippine Institute for Development Studies, which bought 2,500 sqm for over PHP83-million. Leyte Representative Martin Romualdez has filed a resolution asking P-Noy to donate the lot, reports ABS-CBN News
