It’s not just cute furry animals that deserve a final resting place.

There’s a fish cemetery in Dagupan City, Pangasinan and the crowds have begun to come in time for Undas.

The fish-focused cemetery spans 1,312 square meters and is located near the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) office. The fish cemetery is the only cemetery dedicated to sea creatures in Central Luzon.

The cemetary took in its first “tenant” in Feb 1999, which was a whale that got washed up dead on the shores. BFAR officials named the whale “Moby Dick.”

To date, there are 34 sea creatures buried at the site. They include dolphins that have periodically been washed up on the shores of Pangasinan. There are also some sharks and sea turtles. (from an Umagang Kay Ganda report)
