The man sure has confidence.
“Over the weekend, former Ilocos Sur governor, Luis “Chavit” Singson said he was surprised that the graft case filed against him 13 years ago was, in his words, ‘revived’ and expressed optimism that the Sandiganbayan will dismiss it eventually,” reports Mar T. Supnad in Manila Bulletin.
Last April 15, the Sandiganbayan’s Third Division issued a hold departure order (HDO) against Singson due to the multi-million peso graft case which stemmed from the use of the tobacco excise tax during his term as governor. Along with him, former chief justice Renato Corona was also issued an HDO.

Singson was quoted as saying, “This alleged graft case was in fact just used during the impeachment trial of former President Estrada in year 2000 against me. But all the complainants had already submitted an affidavit of desistance and it should have been dismissed long ago as the case has no more merit.”
