Charged! Taxi driver who tried to drug 18yo in Pasig

Yesterday we reported about an 18-year-old lady passenger who struggled to get out of a taxi after feeling drugged inside a cab.

“Police have formally filed charges against a taxi driver who used a special spray which immobilized a female passenger in Pasig City last week,” reports Arlene Rivera in People’s Journal.

Authorities filed charges of robbery, threat and grave coercion against taxi driver Dominador Obsenarez before the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office. He remains in police custody.

He was arrested the other day after barangay watchmen in Manggahan, Pasig, saw him stopping his passenger from leaving his cab. During questioning, the victim, Micah Crystel Sual, told investigators she felt dizzy and numb after seeing the driver spray something on the cab’s aircon.

She tried to leave the taxi when she asked the suspect to pull over, but the driver stopped her. The watchmen came to her rescue while they were on patrol.

Pasig Police chief Senior Supt Mario Rariza also said his office has sent a notice to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board informing the agency about the incident so it could investigate the owner of the taxi franchise the suspect was driving (Tricon, TWJ 743).
