Cesar Montano to head Tourism Promotions Board

The wonderful world of show business opens doors to different opportunities indeed. 

President Rodrigo Duterte has picked actor Cesar Montano as the new Chief Operating Officer of the Tourism Promotion Board (TPB), the agency in charge of promoting tourism programs of the country.

The vocal Duterte superter is expected to help in the preparations of the next the Miss Universe pageant, which is set to be held in the Philippines in 2017.

“This will be a learning process for him. He will help us in the holding of Miss Universe,” said Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo on a report by ABS-CBN. 

Montano is expected to assume the position on Dec 15. 

According to the Tourism Act of 2009, the TPB “shall be responsible for marketing and promoting the Philippines domestically and internationally as a major global tourism destination, highlighting the uniqueness and assisting the development of its tourism products and services, with the end in view of increasing tourist arrivals and tourism investment.”

TPB was previously headed by marketing veteran Domingo Ramon Enerio III.
