Here are some useful tips for the rainy season.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is reminding the public to take care of paper bills drenched in rain.

Maja Gratia Malic, BSP Deputy Director for Currency and Integrity, said wet bills should be dried by wrapping it in newspapers, and be kept from sticking to other bills.

She also advised drying soaked bills using a hair dryer or drying it out under the sun.

Malic warned the public to avoid using a heated clothes iron to dry paper bills because it will burn the security patch and window thread, which will make the bill lose its value.

BSP said that until now, it is still redeeming mutilated bills from victims of Typhoon Yolanda in 2013.
