CBCP not in favor of priests carrying guns

The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines is firm in its stand against members of the clergy bringing firearms for self defense.

The reaction stems from the President’s recent signing of the gun control law that allowed individuals to secure firearms if their work or business puts them in harm’s way. The CBCP stressed that priests are called to imitate Christ who shunned the use of weapons in his own defense, the Philippine Star reported.
