Are drug peddlers just leaving their wares in jeepneys now?
Two boxes of shabu were reportedly left inside a passenger jeepney in in Bacoor City, Cavite.
At around 9am on Mon, Jul 25, jeepney driver Joel Villegas went to the police and surrendered the boxes of shabu with an estimated street value of PHP6 million.
“Villegas told Superintendent Christopher Olazo, Bacoor police chief, that one of his passengers left the two boxes — each containing a kilo of shabu — in his jeepney last Sun, Jul 24,” reports Ed Amoroso in The Philippine Star.
Villegas explained that he decided to surrender the drugs “when unidentified men were seen roaming near his residence.”
No criminal case was filed against Villegas and the two boxes of shabu were taken to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for further investigation.
