After almost a month of investigation, police are now hunting down Rolando Ferrer, a former janitor who is the prime suspect in the murder of a 55-year-old building administration manager named Evelyn Tan.

“Last July 10, 2015, at 7:05 am, Tan’s body was found in her unit at Tower 1 in the West Wing of the Grass Residences condo in Barangay Sto. Cristo, Bago Bantay, Quezon City,” reports Francis Wakefield in Tempo.

According to information from the Quezon City Police District-Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, Tan’s colleague Nathalia Uy had arrived to fetch Tan for a seminar.

The report noted: “Uy noticed that the door of the victim’s unit was open. She entered and discovered the body of the victim lying on her back with her neck, arms, and legs tied with a plastic straw. Uy reported the incident to security guard Romeo Coniza Jr. who informed the police.”

Tan, who lives alone, was found tied up. She had a puncture wound on her left arm and ligature marks on her neck, arms, and legs.

Police then examined the CCTV footage on Tan’s floor and saw that Ferrer went inside Tan’s unit. It’s been theorized that she had asked him to clean up there. Ferrer is later seen throwing out some items and then leaving with a handcarried bag. —with a report from TV Patrol
