Police are now hunting down the driver of a red Hyundai Eon after he shot dead a bicycle rider and wounded a teenage girl in Quiapo, Manila.
The horrific road rage encounter was caught on CCTV.
Reports have not yet released the name of the car driver, as police are still confirming his or her identity.
Some reports, based on a conduction sticker being passed around on social media, have allegedly identified the wrong man as the driver.
In any case, here is what happened during the fatal road rage incident.
At around 10pm on Mon, Jul 25, bicycle rider Mark Vincent Garalde was going through P Casal Street in Quiapo, Manila, when it appeared that he was almost hit by the Hyundai Eon.
Naturally, Garalde chastised the car driver.
The Hyundai Eon driver then stopped the vehicle and got out.
Garalde and the driver appeared to get into an argument, which escalated into a fistfight that lasted for over two minutes.
Garalde appeared to have the upper hand in the fight. Thus, the Hyundai Eon driver stopped throwing punches.
At some point, the two men were out of the CCTV camera’s range.
When the two men were once again back in the CCTV camera’s view, it seemed like they had made peace. The Hyundai Eon driver went back inside his vehicle, while Garalde appeared to reach inside the car’s open window for handshake.
Garalde was already walking away from the altercation scene when the driver once again got out of the car. This time, the driver appeared to be carrying a gun.
He called out to Garalde as he rushed towards him.
Once the driver was near Garalde, he pointed the gun at the latter’s head and shot him.
A elderly woman who lived near the area later related that she heard four shots.
The woman’s 18-year-old granddaughter was likewise hit by a stray bullet from the Hyundai Eon driver’s gun.
Garalde died on the spot, while the 18-year-old girl is reported to be in critical condition.
