A Cathay Pacific plane bound for Hong Kong was forced to go back to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) minutes after takeoff after a passenger complained of severe abdominal pain.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said a Cathay Pacific flight CX 912 was forced to go back to NAIA at around 10am on Tue, Sep 8, after a passenger complained of severe abdominal pain.

The passenger, a 22-year-old foreign national, was brought to the nearby San Juan De Dios Hospital.

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said the passenger apparently had been treated for colon cancer before.
