Just nine months after Carlo Katigbak was appointed its Chief Operating Officer, ABS-CBN names him its new president and CEO, effective Jan 1, 2016.

Katigbak will take the place of Charo Santos-Concio, who will continue to serve the company as the Chief Content Officer, president of ABS-CBN University and executive adviser to the Chairman.
Eugenio Lopez III will continue to be chairman of the board.
Katigbak has been with the company for 20 years, starting in 1994 with Sky Cable. He held various positions, which culminated with his appointment as VP for provincial operations in 1998.
In 1999, he was assigned to put up the Internet division of the network. He was the Managing Director of ABS-CBN Interactive.
In 2005, Katigbak returned to Sky as its Chief Operating Officer. Eight years later in 2013, he was appointed its president.
