The police definitely need tech-savvy people among them.
“The Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) is looking for some 200 Information Technology (IT) experts to boost its campaign against cybercriminals—especially those engaged in online pornography,” reports Aaron B. Recuenco in the Manila Bulletin.
PNP-ACG statistics show that nine out of every 10 Filipino Internet users are victims of cybercrime—which range from viruses and malwares, identity theft, bullying, credit card fraud, and child pornography.
However, there are only 130 ACG personnel across the country. Thus, the need for new recruits is crucial, as the Philippines has been tagged as among the top favorites of criminals engaged in cyber pornography.
