Car rams into convenience store, 2 hurt

Two people were hurt after a car driven by the teenage daughter of a popular sports commentator rammed into a 7 Eleven convenience store at the corner of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue and Quezon Avenue at noon on Wednesday.

According to reports, the 19-year-old Carissa Picson, daughter of Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines (ABAP) executive director and veteran sports commentator Ed Picson, was driving a red Mazda and was about to park at a fastfood place when three pedestrians crossed the driveway. In order to avoid hitting them, Picson tried to slam on the brakes but stepped on the accelerator instead.

This caused her vehicle to jump and practically launch itself inside the 7 Eleven store.

The incident left two people with minor injuries. They were given emergency medical treatment by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) personnel who responded to the scene. Picson was unhurt, GMA News reported.
