A sports utility vehicle (SUV) almost fell into the sea when it was being brought down a roll-on, roll-off (Ro-Ro) ship at San Carlos Pier in Negros Occidental on Tuesday.

Ro-Ro ships are designed to carry land vehicles at sea. Popularly used in the country, vehicles can be driven into and out of the ships using a platform.

Concerned netizen Axel Seldura Tormes captured the moment when the SUV almost fell in the sea, damaging its hood on the docking area’s cement.

ABS-CBN News reported that according to authorities, the driver tried to drive the vehicle to the docking area without the go signal of the Ro-Ro’s crew.

Christian Abuyabor, the deputy commander of the Coast Guard San Carlos City Sub-Station told ABS-CBN News that the ramp for the vehicle was separated from the port’s docking area, which led the vehicle to nearly falling in the water.

Fortunately, the driver was not injured.

The process of getting other cars off the vessel was delayed due to the incident.

The Facebook post now has over 4,700 shares and 1,300 likes as of posting.

Netizens weighed in on the unfortunate incident, such as John Duero, who blamed the driver of the SUV.

“It isn’t secure yet but you were in a hurry to get out, so there, you got into an accident,” Duero said in Filipino.

“That’s what you get when you’re always in a hurry,” echoed Kie Ven Montes Claros.

Andrean Cabrera Carisiosa couldn’t help but feel bad for the car: “Poor [F]ortuner.”
