At the stroke of midnight on Saturday, all political candidates and their supporters are expected to pack their things up and stop campaigning.
Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chair Sixto Brillantes Jr. issued a reminder as he gave out last-minute instructions to all candidates. He warned that it is illegal to distribute or post campaign materials in schools and other voting centers on Monday, election day.
“I’m giving this warning. Those who put up (campaign materials) in areas where they are illegal, like those near schools or voting centers, we will no longer give you any notice,” Brillantes said in an Inquirer News report, adding that the poll body will “take pictures and gather evidence” and prosecute the candidate after elections.
