PWDs, Caloocan has your back, legs and everything in between.
“The city government of Caloocan is set to create a monitoring and coordinating board for Persons With Disabilities tasked to ensure the effective delivery of services to their sector,” reports Mia Billones in People’s Journal.
City Mayor Oscar Malapitan said the proposed Caloocan City Monitoring and Coordination Board for Persons with Disability seeks to provide the disabled equal access to services provided by the local government.
The board will also monitor the compliance of commercial establishments with privileges that PWDs have.
Caloocan is home to around 2,000 PWDs, with at least 20 PWD groups based there.
