If he had a peso for every piece of paper requested from his office…
Additional fees for pieces of paper are usually a hassle, but can you blame this guy for wanting more cash to spend for detainees?
“The Caloocan City Jail can become an income generator for the local government, according to its top official, who is urging councilors to consider his proposals,” reports Nathaniel Melican of Philippine Daily Inquirer.
The city warden, Jail Supt. Paulino Moreno Jr, said the city council could pass an ordinance where it orders the charging of fees on jail documents his office issues, like detention certificates and copies of jail bookings.
Moreno also suggested that the jail could put together an identification system for jail visitors, which they could also charge to the latter as well.
The official, appointed in September, has been asking the local government for a parcel of land where he hopes to build an annex to decongest the Caloocan City Jail.
