After the magnitude 7.2 Visayas earthquake that hit on Oct 15, many people have become more conscious about the structural integrity of our buildings. Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan is one of them.
“Malapitan has instructed the City Engineers Office to check buildings in the city, including infrastructure owned and managed by the local government, and ensure their compliance with regulations,” reports Manila Standard Today.
Malapitan also suggested that Caloocan homeowners have their houses and building checked by a licensed structural engineer.
Earlier this week, Manila Mayor Estrada had also asked his people to check on dormitories in the University Belt area.
