DOH Calls for more medical volunteers for Typhoon Yolanda efforts

The Department of Health (DOH) is now appealing to the private sector to help treat the victims of Typhoon Yolanda, as all the personnel that government hospitals could spare are already on the case.

On his Twitter page, DOH Spokesperson Dr. Eric Tayag wrote: “Volunteer doctors and nurses who want to join medical missions, please call +63 2 7111001 or contact +639209498419.”

“The DOH earlier declared a Code Blue alert in its regional offices in the affected regions, which will require all its personnel to be on a 24-hour duty, while it issued a Code White alert for government to put its entire medical staff on stand-by,” reports Samuel Medenilla in the Manila Bulletin.
