Calling female beginner athletes! Join ‘Atleta Ako’ aquathlon?

The Philippine Sports Commission is holding the “Atleta Ako” aquathlon on Saturday, Mar 22 in celebration of Women’s Month. The event is for female first-timers who’d like to try their hand at a swim-run event.

According to an Inquirer.net report, “Girls aged 7-8 and 9-10 will see action in the 50m swim-800m run and 100m swim-800m run while the 11-12 participants will do 200m swim-1.6k run. Athletes aged 13-14 will compete in 300m swim-2k run while 15-17 will see action in the400m swim-3.2k run.

“For those in the 18-45 and above group, they may compete in either the Standard (500m swim-6k run) or Petite (300m swim-3.2k run) categories. Fun Relay competition will be held at 500m swim and 6k run.”

Competition starts at 7am. Come earlier at 5:30am to pick up your race kits.
