The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has lifted the emergency suspension orders imposed on SEAir International and Magnum Air (Skyjet) Inc. after both were found to have corrected safety concerns.

In a statement, CAAP said the May 15 suspension orders on the Air Operators Certificates (AOCs) of the two airlines were lifted since the corrective measures introduced after they were assessed in April were deemed already acceptable.

The AOC allows operators to use their aircraft for commercial purposes.

“However, in a letter signed by CAAP director general William K Hotchkiss lll addressed to Mr. Avelino Zapanta, president of SEAir International and Capt. Teodoro Fojas, Magnum Air (Skyjet) Inc. accountable manager, they were given notice that their respective airlines are still the subject of heightened surveillance by the aviation authority,” the CAAP said in a statement.

SEAir mounts flights from Manila to Basco, Batanes; Caticlan (Boracay); and Tablas island, Romblon, while Skyjet mounts flights from Manila to Basco, Batanes; and to Busuanga, Palawan.
