Sometimes, it’s better to take a cab.
“Over the weekend, businesswoman Ester Barbasa, 48, and her colleague Pedro Calaoagan Jr., 51, were about to park their black Mitsubishi Pajero (ZPK-351) at Tramway Restaurant near Timog Avenue in Quezon City when a man, who identified himself as ‘Jekjek,’ appeared and volunteered to watch over their vehicle,” reports Francis T. Wakefield in Tempo.
The report noted: “‘Jekjek’ then guided the victims in parking their vehicle in front of Metrobank on Timog Avenue corner Scout Torillo. After parking, the victims alighted and proceeded to the restaurant.”
At about 9:30pm Barbasa and Calaoagan went back to where they parked the vehicle and saw that its left passenger window was broken. The robbers’ loot included more or less PHP400,000 in cash, jewelry, gadgets, and other items.
Clearly, the police said, it was the handiwork of the Basag Salamin Gang. The investigation is now ongoing.
