Business as usual: Raid of QC and Manila jails yields contraband

So, what’s new? This just reflects what’s happening at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City.

Various prohibited items were seized in an inspection of the Quezon City Jail and Manila City Jail on Wed, Jan 13. The raiding team was composed of personnel from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), police Anti-Ilegal Drugs Group, and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT).

“In Quezon City, the jail raid yielded drug paraphernalia, condoms and suspected marijuana leaves from the prison cells of the Batang City Jail gang. Meanwhile, confiscated from the dormitory of the Batang Commando gang, were SIM cards, cash, condoms, pieces of foil, an improvised saw, and flat screen TV sets,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

On the other hand, a press release from the BJMP indicated that the raid at the Manila City Jail yielded aluminum foils, two paddles, four knives, 11 pieces of metal chopsticks, a hammer, packs of cigarettes, nine Army and G-Shock watches, a shovel, earrings, guitar strings, cellphone chargers, and half a liter of rugby.
