This is almost unbelievable. Unfortunately, this really happened.
“On Wednesday night, Jan 8, Police Officer 3 Reynaldo Tumala, 52, of Quezon City Police District Station 2, was hit by a bus while he was walking to his patrol car,” reports Reinir Padua in The Philippine Star.
Tumala had just done foot patrol duties in the area at around 9pm. He was crossing Congressional Avenue when an Admiral Bus hit him. Tumala suffered injuries and cuts in the face, knees, and legs. He was taken to the Quezon City General Hospital.
Bus driver Paulo Botin, 34, allegedly tried to flee from the scene but bystanders stopped him and beat him up. He was taken to the East Avenue Medical Center to be treated from the injuries he got from the mob.
