Bus driver, conductor accused of conniving with robbers

This is just foul!

“The passengers of a McArthur Express bus (UVL 292) bound for Alabang accused the driver and the conductor of conniving with three men who got on the vehicle and robbed them at around 5am on Wednesday, Jan 22,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

The report said that the three men boarded the bus and declared a robbery near the corner of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) southbound lane and Mother Ignacia Street. Two of them were armed with butterfly knives (balisong) while the third carried a gun.

Out of the bus’ 15 passengers, only two had their belongings seized. This was because one passenger attacked the man with the gun. Other passengers also moved to subdue the suspect. It was then that they realized that the two suspects armed with knives had already gotten off the bus at the corner of EDSA and Scout Borromeo Street.

Amid the chaos, the passengers told driver Cesar Francisco to shut the door of the bus. They claimed that he deliberately ignored their instruction to shut the bus door. This was why the other suspect managed to escape as well.

The passengers also said that conductor Aldrin Anillo likewise did nothing to help them subdue the robbers or keep them from leaving.

According to the report, “the police said they are considering the possibility that the driver and conductor connived with the suspects.”
