Bus catches fire on EDSA, bus driver saves the day

We know Metro Manila traffic can get “hot,” but this is something else. Fortunately, a quick-thinking bus driver helped save the day.

“According to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Metrobase, a Commuters bus (TXl-836) was traversing EDSA at about 940 am today, Oct 17, when it caught fire,” reports Associated Press correspondent Mike Frialde in The Philippine Star.

The bus burst into flames as it approached Cubao. Thankfully, the bus driver, Florentino Corpuz, guided his 21 passengers out of the bus to safety.

Nobody was hurt thank God, and by 1020 am, firefighters had put out the fire.
