An Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) traffic enforcer named Garry Rabi sustained injuries after he was hit with a piece of wood by a drunk bus barker named Joel Gozon.
An ABS-CBNnews.com report indicated that the incident happened in Pasay City.
When Gozon was asked why he suddenly hit Rabi with the piece of wood, he reportedly said in Filipino, “I mistook him for an electric post.”
The report said Gozon had been in the middle of a drinking spree with some of his friends when he suddenly got hold of a piece of wood and started hitting electric posts. He then said that he didn’t realize that he was hitting Rabi.
Gozon is now facing direct assault charges.
